January 2025

When I'm not capturing weddings and events, I'm a homebody and mom to an adorable and feisty little three year boy named Magnus. My husband Hentie, chose his name which was inspired by his favourite Youtube rock climber from Norway.

I live a very simple life with my family close to the mountains in Somerset West and nature is also where we spend most of our free time together.

I'm originally from Mpumalanga and moved down to the Western Cape 14 years ago to pursue my dream of wedding photography.

I've over a decade worth of experience traveling both nationally and internationally and what I enjoy most about my work is meeting people from all over the world.

At the very heart of my work you will find a timeless and uninterrupted approach.

I favour authentic moments above all and I do my best work when a couple is so busy being in the moment that they are not even aware that I'm there.

My style has been described as editorial mixed with photojournalism. I have a discreet "fly on the wall" approach on the wedding day. I try to blend in as much as possible and keep direction to a minimum. However I do often lead clients who are not as comfortable knowing "what to do" in front of a camera by offering suggestions on how to achieve natural photos.

I'm very conscientious and I work well with the team & coordination on the day. I keep what is most important always in the forefront of my mind - couples and their families, sharing a momentous occasion.

My aim is always to stay true to my vision and aesthetic while honouring the family and creating a beautiful heirloom for them to pass on.

“When you choose a photographer from across the world you choose based on their social media and website. So we already knew Yolandé’s pictures would be stunning.
My husband and I are not big photo takers and generally quite awkward in life!
Yolande made us feel comfortable from the moment we met her. The most awkward couple ended up dancing, twirling and kissing in front of the camera with no awkwardness in sight.
There are not enough thank you’s in the world. We love every single picture.”

"Yolandé is a professional through and through. No frills, just efficient, and good at what she does. Her work is crisp, clear, and captures the essence of the day without any unnecessary embellishments.

Her approach is refreshingly straightforward and she seamlessly integrates into the day, efficiently navigating through moments to capture them with precision. Her ability to deliver sharp, high-quality images is a testament to her technical expertise. It's not about flashy effects or over-the-top editing – it's about capturing the raw, genuine moments that matter.

Working with Yolandé is like a breath of fresh air in an industry often clouded by pretense. Her professionalism, coupled with her talent for producing beautiful results, make our job as planners considerably smoother."

How do we book you?

In order to secure the date I require a 50% deposit/retainer fee along with a signed contract, consisting of terms and conditions which are based on industry practices. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the wedding. Along with the contract I will also forward you a questionnaire which helps me get to know you better as a couple.

Do you visit our venue before the wedding?

I will make an appointment to do a site visit at a venue I haven't worked at before. You are welcome to join me, or I'm happy to do this on my own.

Can we meet before our wedding?

Establishing a great connection with my clients is essential to being able to capture amazing photographs, so I would love to meet up over a video call. It is important that you feel confident in me and that both our styles and vision aligns for this big day.

How many photos will we receive?

I don't limit the amount of edited photographs I deliver as it so often varies. Although, on average you can expect to receive 500 photos for an 8 hour wedding.

How will we receive our photos?

Your high resolution images will be delivered digitally via an online gallery with download links. Photo books will be delivered via courier.

Do you recommend an engagement session?

Yes, this is a great way to get to know each other and to see how I work and what it feels like to be in front of my camera. I feel this adds an extra level of comfort on the wedding day, having worked together before.
